18 век: Чосон на грани войны с Британской империей, и единственный шанс на спасение – заключить союз с Францией. Французский король требует от короля Чосона личного посещения Парижа, однако ходят слухи, что Кюван слаб здоровьем и трудно переносит дальние поездки. К тому же, в стране смуты, и на властителя Чосона одно за другим совершаются покушения. Он вынужден перемещаться инкогнито в сопровождении только доверенных слуг. Никто даже толком не знает, как выглядит их собственный король!
Нам Ухён – плут, вор и мошенник, наконец-таки попался на краже редкого розового бриллианта «Джульетта» прямо из королевской казны. Не сносить бы ему головы, если бы о его талантах не узнал главный министр. Именно такого хитреца и подлизу он искал для дипломатической миссии: доставить тот самый бриллиант в подарок французскому королю и сопроводить короля Кювана ко двору. Опасная миссия превращается в просто невыносимую, когда вместе с Ухёном и Королём едет редкостно занудный, капризный и раздражительный для слуги, Ким Сонгю.

Summary:
18th century: Joseon is on the verge of war with the British Empire, and the only chance for escaping it is to make an alliance with France. The French king demands the Joseon king to visit Paris personally, but there're rumors that Kyuwang has poor health and it's hard for him to make long trips. Moreover, it's the Time of Trouble in the country, and someone's making attempts to kill the ruler of Joseon day after day. He has to move incognito accompanied with the most loyal servants. Nobody quite knows how their own King looks like!

Nam Woohyun, who is a trickster, thief and swindler, was finally caught when trying to steal a rare pink diamond "Juliette" right from the King's treasury. He would have his head blown off, if the Senior minister hadn't heard about his talents. The Minister was looking for such a sly dog and a toady for the diplomatical mission: to deliever the very same pink diamond as a present for the King of France and to accompany King Kyuwang to the court. The dangerous mission becomes really unbearable when the King and Woohyun are followed by an extremely opinionated, capricious and easily irritated for a servant, Kim Sunggyu.

SPOILER: Actually the King Kyuwang is Sunggyu (SungKyu) and not Kyuhyun as Woohyun first thought.^^
